County v England Under 21’s

The ESMBA have invited Worcestershire to host a match against an England Under 21’s Squad on Sunday 27th February 2022  –  this will take place at Bromsgrove from 1000am to 4.00pm. It will be the season’s last match for the Under 21’s  before they go on to play Wales.

Worcestershire have previously hosted a match against England Under 21’s on the 29th November 2015. That match was won by the Under 21’s by 35 points to 28  –  with the Under 21’s scoring 278 shots and Worcestershire scoring 262 shots.

Diary changes

The away fixture against Northamptonshire scheduled for 21st November has been cancelled and will, hopefully, be rescheduled next year.

County Pairs will now take place at Bromsgrove on 14th November following the County Singles competition.

County v Gloucestershire – Sunday 31st October 2021

The county had a very convincing win against Gloucestershire on Sunday with both the ” Home and Away Squads” winning by 18 points to 6. The county’s ” Home Squad” scored 87 shots, to Gloucester’s 72 with the “Away Squad” scoring 99 shots to Gloucester’s 92.  –  A very close contest as far as shots were concerned.

Safe Bowls Status

The ESMBA has been very dedicated in their attitude towards safe bowling during the whole of the covid 19 pandemic. Counties have to undertake “risk assessment ” and convince the ESMBA  that it is safe to continue bowling at their venue. Richard Rose has spent considerable time and effort on the county’s behalf to convince the ESMBA that Bromsgrove is a safe venue. Many thanks are due to him for his work to achieve this

The ESMBA has now granted  ” Safe Bowls Status ” for short mat bowling at Bromsgrove. The formal letter and certificate from The ESMBA are shown below :
